The Preuss Foundation Communication Initiatives

The Preuss Foundation is dedicated to increasing communication among research scientists throughout the world, whose fields of study impact the research or treatment of brain tumor disease. To achieve this important goal, a series of one to two day seminars and a three-day conference are sponsored by the foundation.

THE PREUSS FOUNDATION CONFERENCES AND ATTENDEES

Inaugurated in October of 1986, The Preuss Foundation Conferences bring together research scientists from the United States and abroad in intensive, retreat environments. The invitation only conferences have led to the formation of numerous new collaborations and information sharing among the participants.

Some Preuss Foundation grantees and specialists in various areas of research are invited to attend the foundation-sponsored retreats. The conferences do not exceed 35 participants in order to guarantee the intimate style of communication that typifies all Preuss Foundation seminars and conferences.

The First Preuss Foundation Conference on Brain Tumor Research (October 15-18, 1986, San Diego, California)
The Second Preuss Foundation Conference on Brain Tumor Research (March 9-12, 1988, San Diego, California)
The Third Preuss Foundation Conference on Brain Tumor Research (February 21-24, 1990, La Jolla, California)

THE PREUSS FOUNDATION SEMINARS AND ATTENDEES

On June 10, 1987, the foundation launched the first of its series of intensive one to two day seminars. These meetings concentrate on one specific area of brain tumor research. Specialists in the field are selected and brought together to discuss and compare their methods, results, and future directions. As with The Preuss Foundation Conferences, the seminar series has led to many new research insights and collaborations.
